May 19th the home stretch

The fireplace with the rock.. It is going to be so nice when they come back and clean, sand and put more poly on the floor.. that hardwood is very durable! Here is the the entrance to the street.. way back when things were started, we were the only house under constrution.. now more than 1/2 of the street is sold and there is a new house being framed across the street. only a few more lots left!
Concrete is coming on Monday! The next door house is coming along too. Carpet was installed today.. looks nice. starting to shape up!

may17th

Working out the outside fireplace.. these blocks build the bottom of the fireplace and then they put rock and brick around that structure. You can see the ceiling fans on the porch are alread installed.

Here are a few more photos... lights outside.. fans inside.. the two fans in the living room have uplights.. or they light up instead of down..

may 15th

Wow, things are moving now... the rock on the front of the house is complete! light fixtures are going in.. the entryway light is up.

The house is a mess inside, but plenty of people buzzing around.. the patio fireplace is underway.. it is going to look like the front of the house.. rock and brick, with a long sitting area along the back of the patio! Sweet!

may 13

Here are a few more... the rock on the front of the house really is taking awhile, these guys are really artists, each piece of rock is broken and chisled to fit just right, but it is almost done.

All of the ceiling lights are in and the electrician put all the sockets and switches up, now they will do the light fixtures on monday!

may 11th

break from the house :) Myra is a U.S. citizen!

Myra got her citizenship today! Here she is with a Buffalo Soldier, that was a part of the ceremony. Very Cool! And as you can see.. Myra has a new last name :)

may 9th

Ok, here are some more photos.... rock on the outside... some new sinks and tubs.. you can see the fixtures.. it's called "oil rubbed metal" and one in the laundry room.. we didnt' see that they had added the counter and that they put a tile like the one in the kitchen as a little backsplash, there is no window in here so you only see it with the camera flash.

May 3rd brick

These guys were still working at 7pm when we stopped by today.. they started at 6am!... the brick is 1/2 way up the house!

May 1st

All the hardware was put on the doors, the backsplash was completed in the kitchen and the wood floors look great! Tomorrow, they will start on the exterior brick. Oh and they put in the sink in the powder room. It looks nice! We didn't see it until the picture came out because it is dark in there.
